Enjoy the convenience of city living at McKenzie House.

This complex has 36 apartments on five floors with elevator access. The Community Room has a kitchen, TV/VCR, sitting area and tables with chairs for gatherings and a screened in porch. The laundry room is on the 1st floor. There is some storage area available to residents. McKenzie House is within walking distance to the downtown shopping area and to the main CCTA bus terminal on Cherry Street.

Activities

Activities include weekly bingo, holiday dinners, picnics and trips. There is small yard off the porch that has benches and a picnic table for residents' use. There is a Resident Association at McKenzie House that is entirely voluntary. This group meets monthly to bring up issues with management and plan activities.

Services

Services offered at McKenzie House are: foot clinic, homemaker services, bus transportation to a grocery store. The Maintenance Manager is available Monday through Friday for maintenance of the building and grounds. McKenzie House does not have on-site medical services. We do not provide meals, nursing staff, or any type of personal care. There is a Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) employed by O'Brien Brothers Agency. The RSC assists residents at McKenzie House in accessing community services so residents are able to remain in their homes for as long as they are able and desire to live there.
